Title: Peacock
Pairing: Ryopi

Yamapi stirred from his slumber after sensing that the older boy’s movements. He woke to find him staring at his laptop. Ryo cocked his head to one side as his eyebrows furrowed, as if in deep thought. Yamapi looked at him and said nothing. Ryo’s face was one of many emotions. His face conveyed that said someone had just told him something he didn’t want to hear but he wasn’t going to honor it by giving it a response..

Yamapi yawned and did not bother to ask. He knew that Ryo will start talking soon enough if it weighed heavily on his mind. He stared back lazily at Ryo’s face, and soon after, Ryo said it.

“Ne, Pi do you think I’m like a peacock?”

Yamapi was mildly surprised but did not show any acknowledgement of that he had an answer to that question. Yamapi raised a hand slowly and traced the lode of Ryo’s ear. That question was completely unexpected as Ryo always dismissed things instantly if he did not know the answer. Then again, Ryo did not know answers to many other things. That is why Ryo always nitpicks and criticises things he does not know. Yamapi had learnt that going against Ryo by questioning him back is almost suicidal and childish. Hence it was better to give in then causing a rift in their relationship (although making up after that was almost worth arguing.
So, in fact, Yamapi shouldn’t be surprised at all by that question, judging from Ryo’s temperament.

“Pi,” Ryo’s eyebrows drew even closer, almost like a very peeved, pretty bird.

The peacock question. Yamapi stopped moving his hand, which was twirling Ryo’s hair. Yamapi had seen peacocks before at the zoo and he thought they were regal, proud birds. Peacocks had a beautiful plumage which expands meters wide; a sight to behold. Brillant shades of emerald and sapphire. That was only the appearance. Peacocks are not songbirds by nature. The squawking was deafening and they argued unabashedly if another peacock comes too close to their territory.

Ryo was the epitome of regal. He, however did not live in a greenhouse like his nemesis, Ueda from another group. However, he was still pampered by his Osakan counterparts which was deplorable. When Ryo dislikes something, he will instantly inform you of that fact, which was sometimes annoying and hurting. He did that to Yamapi once and Yamapi just threw what ever he was holding onto the floor and walked off. His voice was not the best but better then average. During a concert, fangirls practically screamed their heads off and (to Yamapi’s dismay) fanboys also stalked Ryo. Yamapi half believed that Ryo could even feed on his fans’ love.
Hence, yes, Ryo is a peacock. But he is Yamapi’s peacock, nobody else’s, but his to claim, his to show affection to.

“Of course not,” Yamapi pulled Ryo against his chest and nuzzled his shoulder.
“These quizzes are always inaccurate,” Ryo jabbed at the keyboard in disgust and forgot about it.

Yamapi just smiled in Ryo’s shirt.
